Registered Beefmaster Herd

We began raising registered Beefmasters in the summer 2003. Right now, we're running about 50 head. This breed is not yet common in our part of the country, but we firmly believe that they can add a great deal to our cattle operation and to yours.

Beefmasters are developed on Six Essentials: weight, confirmation, milking ability, fertility, hardiness, and disposition, all of which are priorities for our operation. Primarily, we chose to begin working with the Beefmaster breed because of their weight gain abilities, their hardiness, and their extremely thorough grazing habits. However, we are also benefiting from the lower birth weights and increased weaning and yearling weights common to this breed of cattle.

Our goal with this herd is to provide top quality bulls and replacement females for your own commercial or registered Beefmaster herd. We are absolutely confident that the bulls of this breed will make tremendous cross breeding bulls on any herd. We are also taking steps to enter the Beefmaster Breeders United's (BBU) E6 Female program. These females are ½ Beefmaster and ½ whichever breed you choose. They are becoming very popular with commercial operators because the Beefmaster Six Essentials are carried over in the cross. The result is a durable, easy-doing cow with excellent milking ability.

The Beefmaster breed is going very strong in the southern regions of the U.S. We feel that it won't be long until they are prevalent in the more northern regions, as well.
