Ranch Family

Daryl & Marvin Miller
Brothers Daryl and Marvin Miller, along with Daryl's late wife, Roxy, are the founders of the Broken Bar M Ranch. Daryl and Marvin are spending their retirements helping Jarrod, Marie, Jessie, and Ron develop their ranching techniques.

Daryl keeps a watchful eye on the day-to-day operations of the Ranch and advises in the management and care of the cattle and horses. He has been responsible for setting the Ranch on its course and ensuring that its early goals are met.

Marvin is the mechanic and manufacturer for the ranch. He oversees the maintenance of anything with wheels (and some without!) and builds the gadgets and gizmos that help keep the Ranch running smoothly.

Jarrod & Marie Miller, Kourtney and Ally Jo
Jarrod is the Ranch Manager. He oversees the care and feeding of the cattle, as well as all of the record keeping for the registered herds. He does the Ranch's preg-checking and sees to the AI program. Jarrod also is the main man in the day-to-day upkeep of the ranch.

Marie is a Physical Therapist in Howard. When she's not helping other people get better or herding the girls, she helps work cattle and harvest hay.

Kourtney and Ally Jo are the lead entertainers on the ranch. Kourtney, who is ten, spends a great deal of time on her bike or developing her teaching skills. Since Ally Jo already has everyone wrapped around her finger, she is concentrating on learning walk and talk. She has already mastered the words “dog” and “cow.”

Jarrod and Marie were married in November of 2001 right here on the Ranch. They live in the ranch house near the barns and feedlot where Jarrod can be near the action.

Ron & Jessie Cummings
Jessie manages the Quarter Horse program for the Ranch. She oversees the care, breeding, and training of the horses. She splits her time between Ranch responsibilities, helping her husband Ron with his endeavors, and working off the Ranch at a bank in Howard.

Ron is a fairly recent addition to the Broken Bar M Ranch family. He custom hays, farms, and runs about 100 head of commercial cows with his father, a native to the area. Occasionally he works as an electrician or day worker for other local ranches. On the family Ranch, he helps Marvin in the machine shop, farms the cropland, and helps gather, work, preg-check, AI, and haul cattle.

Ron and Jessie met in August of 2002 and married in April of 2003. It was just one of those “love at first sight” things. They, too, were married on the ranch and live nearby.

Eva Greiner
Evie originally hails from California , but she came to the Ranch from Arizona where she spent a couple of years working as a wrangler on a dude ranch. She came to the Ranch in 2004 and has been an indispensable ranch hand and friend ever since. Mostly she helps Jessie care for the horses and work with the foals and yearlings, but she also keeps Daryl company, and wrangles cattle, hay, feed, little girls (Kourtney & Ally Jo!), cookies, and good coffee.
