Who says grade horses don't make the grade?!

We proudly introduce you to the grand dame of our herd. If any one of the mares gets a little extra lovin' or a few more treats, it's Precious. Long before Precious came to live with us, her shoulder was badly torn up in a cutting event. She has been a broodmare and nanny ever since, and is she ever good at it! Not only does she produce wonderful foals, but she also serves as babysitter and comfort giver to the rest of the babies, especially at weaning time. She is a people horse with cow sense and ability, both traits she passes on. You can see her 2004 foal on our “Yearlings” page.
